With the Gold Coast becoming a mecca for movie and TV production, Kru Catering's director, Darrell Scanlon, decided it was time to update his fleet of catering kitchens in response to an increase in demand.
Kru Catering are the first choice of Location Production Managers and with over 15 years experience within the film industry, Darrell's wide range of commercial kitchens are all self-sufficient and fitted with silent generators ready to produce healthy, nutritious and delicious meals in bulk, tailored to each production.
After completing a container kitchen for Darrell in the past, the team at Commercial Kitchen Company were excited to be involved in another of Kru's catering trucks.
The process started with Darrell sitting down with our design team to look at the flow of the kitchen and the needs of the chefs, keeping in mind the galley style and minimal space. The cooking line needed to include everything the chefs require including range and grills, leaving room for refrigeration, dishwasher and prep areas.
All the equipment supplied was new with Comcater providing Rational, Garland and Frymaster equipment and Hobart providing a Warewashing Pass Through dishwasher.
We wish Darrell all the best with his new catering truck and look forward to planning and building many more in the future.
