Glenn & Martin Vos’ exciting new venue, Tapworks Bar & Grill Chermside, opened in June 2017 as part of the new eatery section at Westfield Chermside.
Commercial Kitchen Company first had contact with Glenn around October 2016 where the concept and ideas were discussed followed by engagement for the design part of the process. This was headed up & finalised by Bruce Fathi, part of the Commercial Kitchen Company design team, at the end of March 2017, with the build commencing in May 2017 (Tonic Shop fitting).
For the kitchen fitout Commercial Kitchen Company’s Brisbane Team used a mixture of equipment from Comcater, Williams, Hoshizaki, Stoddart & Hobart, also suppling all the smallwares for the venue.
Since opening they have been inundated with happy customers and have received amazing feedback.
Glenn wanted to create a unique beer tap feature in the middle of the bar using beers that are constantly on a rotation basis based on what’s available and customer favourites. Chef Tim Hewitt fully utilises the Rational Combi Oven together with the Menumaster MXP during service. He has commented that he struggles to think how his team would cope without these two pieces of equipment because of their speed and efficiency during busy service times.
Glenn has stated that he wants Tapworks Bar & Grill to be viewed as a specialty craft beer venue with high quality food.
